I simply can’t get eno enough of E17. It’s stunning, lightning fast, stable. Just amazing how they did that.

I checked Key Bindings Settings. Unfortunately it doesn’t let you make one key binding.

I was looking for that too, but so far i couldn’t figure it out. There is “Composite” settings. Maybe some tweaking will work. Not sure though.

Dock to the left is easy. Just create a new shelf and set it on the left side of the screen and set it on autohide.

Nice review – I have been looking to replace Ubuntu’s Unity with E17. Mostly because of performance, and I see that E17 does most of the effects with less fuss.

However, I’m not sure exactly what the best way to do this.

* start ‘run everything’ with the Super key – possibly with a simpler layout
* use top left edge to present windows (exposé effect)
* dock to the left (as with Unity – starting to like that arrangement).
* theme with a more flat appearance, including mouse/icons and wm decos et al.

I would be glad if someone visiting this review would direct me to some good (= recent links) , to accomplish some of the above.
