Finch is a popular chat client that functions from the Linux command line. This tool will let users manage their entire contact list in a familiar way. Finch is a fantastic choice for users wanting to distance themselves further from the desktop. Notifications appear to be disabled or unavailable by default so users may need to check back routinely for incoming messages.
For users that crave more information about the Finch messaging client, I will point out some of the basics to help everyone get under way. Though the list of features is rather limited, this tool is a personal favorite of mine.
Finch will let you connect with many of your pre-existing accounts, using various protocols. With this tool, you can integrate many chat accounts into one convenient application. This unique messaging client supports several popular chat protocols such as AIM, MSN, ICQ, and IRC.
Note: Unfortunately Finch does not offer an account creation wizard, so you will need to register an account with the website of your desired service.
