Here are some keyboard shortcuts for the Unity desktop that I have found useful. This is by no means a complete list of available keyboard shortcuts, only the ones useful for desktop efficiency and navigation.
Unity Keyboard Shortcut Settings
Unity also provides a convenient graphical user interface for customizing your own keyboard shortcuts. For maximum desktop efficiency be sure to take advantage of this useful feature.
Here are some of the default keyboard shortcuts for the Unity desktop. The following shortcuts will help you interact with the Unity dash.
Displaying The Dash
Pressing the Windows or Meta key once will open the dash, pressing it again will close the dash.

Open The Application Lens
You can use this shortcut to open the application lens inside the Dash.
Meta + A
Open The Files And Folders Lens
This opens the files and folders lens from the Dash.
Meta + F
Dash Command Mode
Use this to open the Dash in command mode, this will allow you to enter commands without opening a terminal, press enter when finished.
Alt + F2
These shortcuts will help users interact with the new Unity launcher.
Display The Launcher Shortcuts
Hold the Meta key to show the launcher and launcher keyboard shortcuts.

Launching Applications
Hold the meta key and press any number from 1-9 to launch the corresponding application from the Launcher.

Display The Launcher
This will open the launcher on the left side of the screen, with the first item selected. The arrow keys will allow you to navigate through items in the Launcher, you can use the enter key to launch these items.
Alt + F1
Use these keyboard shortcuts to interact with all of your open windows.
Display All Windows
Use this to hide all windows and display the desktop, the same works to restore all windows.
Meta + D
Switch Between Windows
This will switch between your open windows.
Alt + Tab
Close The Current Window
As always this can be used to close the currently selected window.
Alt + F4
Maximize Or Un-maximize The Current Window
This will maximize or un-maximize the current window.
Alt + F10
Here are some shortcuts that will help you interact with your workspace switcher.
Display The Workspace Switcher Applet
You can open the workspace switcher with this shortcut, all windows will appear zoomed out.
Meta + S
Workspace Switcher Expo Mode
This displayed the workspace switcher in Expo mode showing the windows from all workspaces.
Meta + W
Switch Workspaces
This can be used to switch between workspaces.
Ctrl + Alt + Arrow Keys
Move Windows Between Workspaces
You can use this to move the current window to the desired workspace.
Ctrl + Alt + Shift + Arrow Keys
There are also some extra keyboard shortcuts that might be useful.
Open A Terminal
This is a useful shortcut that you can use to open a terminal at any time.
Ctrl + Alt + T
Open The Trash
Use this to open the trash folder in Nautilus.
Meta + T
