Didn’t know about the settings editor. The only window manager I can fully customize is LXDE. But I will see if the settings manager will work for me in XFCE. I made a fully customized LXDE because I don’t like Unity and Gnome 3. I used cairo dock and compiz to get what I wanted. I know LXDE is built to be light, but I needed customization and  it fit the bill. Maybe I’ll give xfce a try.

Good luck getting your desktop customized! We seem to have similar opinions, I too went with LXDE (or Xfce) using Compiz and Ciaro dock on the side as a nice little efficiency and aesthetic boost. Just a heads-up, a full article on the Xfce4-settings-editor will be posted only days from now! Though I could not find some of the detailed documentation that I would have liked. Either way, I hope it helps!

      Enjoy Xfce!
