Here we will look at some of the existing Xfwm4 themes, where they are stored, and how they work. Themes for Xfwm4 use the popular GTK+ 2.0 format.
Pixmap Themes
Xfwm4 themes use a pixmap theme engine and text files for configurations. But this window manager can also use Gtk themes if configured properly.
Customize Your Themes
Users have the ability to customize their window themes by creating a few images, and then editing a few files, all said, it could be worse.
Users have the choice of using the simple default themes that are provided, or you can download a complete theme package, themes can also be added individually.
Installing Themes
More themes for Xfwm 4 can be installed using the commands below.
$ sudo apt-get install xfwm4-themes
The Xfwm4 window manager allows the user to customize their window title bars. You can decide which window buttons you would like displayed inside the window title bar as well. Title bar text, color, and title alignment can also be changed at any time.
Title Bar Colors
You already know that title bar colors cab be changed, but that's not all. You can set custom colors for active windows, or inactive windows.
Xfwm 4 themes offer 6 optional window buttons that you can toggle on or off. You can also arrange these buttons in different orders according to your preferences.

Users can also enable six different action buttons, each using their own unique image file for identification. The order of titlebar buttons can even be changed if you are really that picky.

/usr/share/themes/
Alternative Theme Directory
Xfwm 4 window themes may be found in the next directory in some cases.
~/.themes
Users are also able to download cursor and icons packs. Alternatively you can also try customizing your own cursors or icons.
